The UNC Department of Athletics, School of Public Health, and The Gatorade Company have partnered to create the Get Kids in Action program designed to identify real and proven solutions to increase physical activity to reduce and prevent childhood obesity. As part of this four-year partnership, Tar Heel student-athletes joined second through fifth grade students at Hillsborough Elementary School on June 1 and 2 for Field Day activities. The student-athletes participated in hula-hoop relays, three-legged races and other games to help inspire kids to be more active.
