Smooth shooting two guard was one of three Tar Heel freshmen to make the 2007 ACC All-Tournament Team • Helps form one of the best backcourts in the country • Needs to become more consistent shooter, better ball-handler and defender • Excellent free throw shooter, but needs to get to the line more • Made Team USA's roster for the Pan Am Games, but suffered a left shoulder sprain in the first game and missed the rest of the competition.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2006-07)
Started 37 of 38 games (all but Senior Day) • Third on the team in scoring (11.7 ppg) and led the team with 66 three-point field goals • Hit at least one three-pointer in 33 of 38 games • Made two or more three-pointers 22 times, including all three ACC Tournament games and six of last 11 games • Scored in double figures 27 times with highs of 19 against Gardner-Webb and Ohio State • Had 48 assists and only 14 turnovers in regular-season ACC games • Had more assists than turnovers in 11 of the last 17 games and 19 overall • Converted 83.6 percent from the free throw line • Had a streak of 20 straight made free throws snapped in the Michigan State game • Made 34 of his last 38 free throws (.895).

March: Scored 14 points and had three assists in a season-high 31 minutes at Georgia Tech.
ACC Tournament: Earned first-team all-tournament honors after averaging 14.7 points and leading UNC in scoring in two of three wins • Shot 48.3 percent from the floor (14 of 29), 50 percent from three-point range (6 of 12) and was 10 for 10 from the free throw line • Led all scorers with 18 points and was UNC's defensive player of the game in quarterfinal win over Florida State • Shared UNC scoring honors with 16 points in the championship game win over NC State • Made 6 of 8 field goal tries in finals • Joined on all-tourney team by Brandan Wright and Ty Lawson, the first time in ACC history more than one freshman on a team won first-team honors.
NCAA Tournament: Had 12 points, six rebounds and five assists vs. Eastern Kentucky and hit two three-pointers for the fourth game in a row • Equaled his season low with one field goal against Michigan State • One of three Tar Heels in double figures with 12 points against USC • Had a spectacular reverse lay-up that gave Carolina a 67-59 lead with 4:40 to play.
