Douglas Byrd High School
Named one of the top 25 players in North Carolina by The Charlotte Observer • Earned all-region honors from PrepStar • Carried 197 times for 1,277 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior, including 249 yards and three touchdowns in Byrd's 38-8 upset win over Greenville Rose in the second round of the state playoffs • Led the Mid-Southeastern 4-A Conference in rushing as a junior, carrying 199 times for 1,359 yards and 14 touchdowns during the regular season • Rushed 41 times in Byrd's win at undefeated Garner • Also played defensive back • Coached by Bob Paroli.
