• After playing quarterback the last three seasons, including his one year
at Carolina, Dailey moved to wide receiver in the spring • Made an easy
transition and should be among the rotation at wideout in 2007 • Transferred
to North Carolina after playing two seasons at Nebraska where he started all
11 games at QB in 2004 • Sat out the 2005 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
2006 - Junior Season
Played in 10 games and started seven, including the last five • Started the
first two games of the season, but did not regain the starting role until
the Wake Forest game, six games later • Started in the 45-44 victory over
Duke and completed 20 of 31 attempts for a season-high 253 yards, two
touchdowns and one interception • Tossed a career-long 83-yard touchdown
pass to Hakeem Nicks in the first quarter • Also had a 39-yard scoring pass
to Brooks Foster in the first quarter • Rushed five times for 45 yards,
including a long of 23, against the Blue Devils • Started against NC State
and completed 8 of 15 for 137 yards and no interceptions • Started against
Georgia Tech and was 13 of 34 for 156 yards and two interceptions • Started
and had his best game as a Tar Heel in the loss at Notre Dame, completing 14
of 22 for 213 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions • Threw touchdown
passes of 12, 13 and 72 yards against the Irish • The 72-yarder tied for the
20th-longest pass play in school history • Started and was 13 of 19 for 156
yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against Wake Forest • Rotated
nearly every two series with Cam Sexton in the Wake Forest game and directed
two of Carolina's three scoring drives • Hit tight end Andre Barbour on a
1-yard touchdown pass to tie the score in the first quarter against the
Deacons • Played the entire second half against Virginia and completed 6 of
12 for 62 yards and one interception • Did not play against USF • Played two
series at Miami and was 4 of 8 for 50 yards, including a long of 19 yards •
Played just one series against Clemson and was 0 for 1 passing and had -4
yards rushing on two carries • Did not play against Furman • Started against
Virginia Tech and was 10 of 17 for 55 yards and two interceptions • Also
rushed for 18 yards on three carries against the Hokies • His second
interception was returned to the UNC 1-yard line • Completed 24 of 36
attempts for 234 yards and one touchdown against Rutgers in the season
opener • Also ran for 38 yards and a touchdown • Tossed two interceptions,
including one on Carolina's final offensive possession of the game •
Struggled in the first half against the Scarlet Knights, but came back to
complete 19 of 24 in the second half, including 15 of his first 16 attempts
• Was 9 of 11 for 82 yards on UNC's fourth-quarter touchdown drive that cut
the Rutgers lead to 21-16.
2004 - Sophomore Season (Nebraska)
Ran Nebraska's newly-installed West Coast offense • Started all 11 games and
shattered several Nebraska passing records in the process • Established a
Nebraska single-game passing record with 342 yards in a 59-27 victory over
Baylor • Completed 13-of-20 passes in the game and threw for five touchdowns
to tie another school record • Also topped 300 yards (306) vs. Colorado, the
first 300-yard passing games in school history, and finished with five games
of 200 yards or more through the air • In addition to his two 300-yard
games, Dailey also topped 200 yards passing against Western Illinois,
Southern Miss and Iowa State • In the game against Colorado, Dailey
attempted a school-record 55 pass attempts, completing a Nebraska record 29
passes • Threw for four scores and rushed for two others against Western
Illinois, and his six total touchdowns tied a Nebraska record • Finished the
season with 2,025 yards passing, the third-best season total in school
history • Also passed for 17 touchdowns, but did throw 19 interceptions on
the year • Finished the 2004 season with a 49.4 completion percentage, while
averaging 184.1 yards per game through the air.
2003 - Freshman Season (Nebraska)
Finished the season with 122 rushing yards on 33 carries, and completed 9 of
14 passes for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns, with two interceptions •
Threw a 21-yard scoring strike to Matt Herian against Troy State and
connected with Isaiah Fluellen for a 29-yard touchdown against Texas A&M.
St. Peter's Prep
Was one of the nation's top run-pass quarterbacks in 2003 • Completed 54
percent (74-of-136) of his passes as a senior for 1,378 yards and 19
touchdowns • Added 783 rushing yards, 13 touchdowns and seven two-point
conversions on the ground • His leadership on offense helped St. Peter's
Prep, coached by Rich Hansen, to a 10-1 record and an appearance in the
state semifinals • Posted big numbers as a junior, passing for better than
1,100 yards and 17 touchdowns, while rushing for an additional 700 yards •
Led St. Peter's Prep to a 36-6 record and four HCIAA titles in his time as
the starting quarterback • Set school records for most touchdown passes,
most touchdown runs, passing attempts, passing completions and rushing yards
by a quarterback • Earned first-team all-area and all-county honors and was
a first-team all-state Parochial school selection • Was named to the New
Jersey Super 100 Team and selected to the MSG All-Heisman Team • Was the
Hudson Reporter Player of the Year • Was an All-East Region selection by
PrepStar ranked as the No. 13 dual-threat quarterback in the nation by
Rivals.com.

12 Commissioner's Fall Academic Honor Roll • Was one of 13 players named to
