2005 - Junior season
Started all 11 games at outside linebacker • Tied for the team lead with 91 tackles and had 8.0 tackles for losses of 24 yards, 1.5 sacks, one interception, two pass breakups and forced a fumble • Ranked sixth in the ACC in tackles per game (8.3) • Had a season-high 16 tackles at Virginia Tech • Posted three tackles and intercepted a pass against Duke • Had 11 tackles and a quarterback hurry against Maryland • Recorded a team-high 10 tackles, including eight primary stops, in the win over Boston College • Also had a tackle for loss and a quarterback pressure against the Eagles • Had four tackles against Miami • Had 10 tackles and assisted on a tackle for loss in the win over Virginia • Posted six tackles and broke up a pass against Louisville • Had a spectacular game in the win over Utah with 12 tackles, three tackles for loss and one forced fumble • Posted seven tackles, had two tackles for losses, one sack and one quarterback hurry in the win over NC State • Played well against Wisconsin, recording five tackles, breaking up one pass and assisting on a sack with safety Kareen Taylor • After winning the starting job in fall practice, Edwards had a solid game against Georgia Tech in the season opener, posting six tackles., including 1.5 tackles for losses of five yards.
2004 - Sophomore season
Had 38 tackles, including 19 primary and 19 assists • Also had one sack, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and one pass breakup • Tied for the team lead with two interceptions • Made his first sack of the season for 10 yards in the win over Duke • Started against NC State and Utah • Made eight tackles and picked off a pass against Utah •Also recovered a fumble and broke up a pass against the Utes •Was named ACC Defensive Back of the Week for his performance against NC State • Made his first start of the season and responded with eight tackles (five primary, three assists), a fumble recovery and a 54-yard interception return in Carolina's 30-24 victory over NC State • Picked off a Jay Davis pass at the UNC 43-yard line that was tipped at the line of scrimmage and ran 54 yards to the NC State 3-yard line • Carolina scored on the next play • Also recovered a fumble in the third quarter at the UNC 20-yard line • Assisted on three tackles against FSU • Had nine tackles, including five primary stops and four assists, against Louisville •Made two tackles against Georgia Tech • Registered five tackles at Virginia • Also played on special teams.
2003 - Freshman season
Played in 12 games and started the final eight of the season • Finished third on the team with 89 tackles, including 56 primary hits and 33 assists • Also had 5.5 tackles for losses of 19 yards, a half sack for seven yards, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, two quarterback hurries and two pass breakups • Had at least 10 tackles in six of his eight starts at outside linebacker • Played on special teams in the first four games before making his first career start against Virginia • Posted 12 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a half sack and one fumble recovery against the Cavaliers • Had 10 tackles the following week in the win at East Carolina • Registered a season-high 15 tackles, including 13 solo stops, and had one tackle for loss against Arizona State • That performance earned him ACC Rookie of the Week honors • Had 12 tackles at Maryland, 11 in the win over Wake Forest and 12 in the season finale against Duke • Also added a tackle for loss and a pass breakup against the Blue Devils.

Four-year starter at linebacker • Ranked No. 22 in the Orlando Sentinel's Top 100 players in Florida • Named first-team 5-A all-state at linebacker • Also ranked among the top 75 players in Florida by SuperPrep • Began his high school career as a defensive tackle, but moved to running back and linebacker as a junior • Rushed for 1,400 yards and was the team's Most Valuable Player as a senior when Wharton was 13-2 and played in the 5-A state championship game •Scored 27 touchdowns as a senior, including 12 rushing and 15 receiving • Posted 18 tackles for losses, nine sacks and forced three fumbles at linebacker • Named the league's MVP as a running back his junior season •Coached by Richard Wood, a 10-year NFL veteran.
