2007: Stared all 12 games at safety
• Most experienced player in the defensive backfield with 18 career starts •
Ranked tied for second on the team with 59 tackles and was second with two
interceptions • Finished second in the ACC with three forced fumbles • Led
the team with five pass breakups • Had one tackle and broke up a pass
against Duke • Made four tackles and forced a fumble at Georgia Tech • Had
seven tackles at NC State • Posted a season-high 10 tackles, including eight
solo stops and two assists in the win over Maryland • Also had an
interception that led to a field goal and broke up a pass against the Terps
• Recorded seven tackles, including four solo stops, at Wake Forest • Had

2005 - Sophomore Season
Played in all 11 games and started the last six at strong safety • Posted 53
tackles, 2.5 tackles for losses • Had a team-best three interceptions, broke
up five passes and recovered a fumble • Had seven tackles at Virginia Tech •
Had seven tackles and picked off a pass against Duke • Made a career-high 11
tackles against Maryland • Recorded six tackles and one pass breakup in the
win over Boston College • Had a team-high nine tackles and made his first
two career interceptions at Miami • It was the first two-interception game
for a Tar Heel since Jacoby Watkins vs. Georgia Tech in 2004, a span of 17
games • Made his first career start in the win over Virginia • Finished with
three tackles, a tackle for loss, broke up a pass and had a quarterback
hurry • His pass breakup led to Cedrick Holt's interception on Virginia's
final offensive play • Posted four tackles, had one tackle for loss and
recovered a fumble in the win over Utah • Had two tackles in the win over
NC State.
2004 - Freshman Season
True freshman who played in every game as a backup cornerback and on special
teams • One of 13 true freshmen to see action • Had nine kickoff returns for
175 yards, an average of 19.4 and a long of 46 yards • Had 16 tackles,
including eight primary stops and eight assists • Made one tackle and had
one kickoff return for 15 yards in the Continental Tire Bowl against Boston
College • Had one tackle and one kickoff return for 12 yards in the win at
Duke • Returned two kickoffs for 37 yards in the win over Wake Forest • Made
three tackles against Virginia Tech • Returned one kickoff for 13 yards
against No. 4 Miami • Had one kickoff return for 15 yards and assisted on
one tackle against Utah • Assisted on two tackles against NC State and
