Enters the fall competing for the starting quarterback position • Redshirted in 2005 after breaking his ankle in spring practice • Enrolled in January 2005 and participated in Continental Tire bowl practices with the Tar Heels • Had surgery to repair his ankle and was able to practice on a limited availability last fall.

Grew up in Durham, attending Hope Valley Elementary School • Son of Patti and Brent Sexton • His father played at Elon and spent three seasons at defensive back with the Pittsburgh Steelers • Born on October 2, 1986 • Pretended to be Joe Montana as a kid • Would like to switch places for a day with Michael Jordan • Would like to improve his strength and size • Communications major.
