CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - After reporting to campus Thursday afternoon, the North Carolina football team will open 2008 preseason practice Friday. The Tar Heels return 17 starters from last year's squad, including preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference playmakers Hakeem Nicks and Brandon Tate.

Friday will be a busy day for the team starting with an early-morning photo session. Select players and head coach Butch Davis will meet with the media prior to the start of the first practice session Friday afternoon.
