Tar Heels Hosts Navy In NCAA First Round Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - The University of North Carolina men's lacrosse team has earned the No. 4 seed in the 2008 NCAA Tournament and for the second straight year the Tar Heels will play host to Navy in their first-round matchup. The game will be played at Fetzer Field on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The contest will be broadcast nationally live on ESPNU.

North Carolina enters the match with a record of 8-5 while the Midshipmen are 9-5. A year ago, UNC defeated Navy 12-8 in the first round at Fetzer Field, ending Navy's five-game winning streak against the Tar Heels that dated back to 2003.

The No. 4 seed for the Tar Heels is their best since the 1996 Tar Heel squad earned a No. 4 seed.
