General -- A transfer from Penn State University who has immediate eligibility for the Tar Heels...was a two-year letter winner for the Nittany Lions...plays the holding center midfield position where she has a good chance to start in her first year at Carolina...UNC's 2006 starter at that position, Ali Hawkins, tore her ACL last May playing for the U21 National Team in England opening up a spot for Long to play right away.

National Team -- Member of U20 National Team which competed in 2005 World Championships in Russia falling in the semifinals of the tournament...elevated to the U.S. U21 National Team in the spring of 2006.

Club Soccer -- Won MVP award at the Orange Classic while playing for the Albertson Express...the Express won the WAGS, Orange Classic, Disney and Raleigh Shootout...her club team won the state cup four years in a row.

Sophomore Season (2006) -- Was a first-team All-Big Ten selection at Penn State...named to the National Soccer Coaches Association first-team All-Mid-Atlantic Region team...was a 2006 Soccer Buzz first-team all-region selection...was the Big Ten's offensive player of the week on October 23, 2006...selected for the Academic All-Big Ten Team...started all 21 games she played in after missing the first five games while playing for the U.S. in the U20 World Championships in Moscow, Russia...scored six goals and added four assists for the Nittany Lions...had her first point of the season with an assist versus Northeastern on September 17...scored her first goal of the season September 24 against Michigan...recorded a goal and an assist in the game at Iowa on September 29 and against Northwestern on October 22...scored the game-winning goal against Minnesota on October 13 and against Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament on November 5...Academic All-Big Ten selection.

Freshman Season (2005) -- 2005 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Third-Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection...Soccer Buzz second-team All-Mid-Atlantic Region...named to Soccer Buzz's second-team freshman All-America squad...tapped for Soccer Buzz's 2005 Freshman All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team...was named to the second-team All-Big Ten squad...named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2005 Big Ten Tournament...copped Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors...after starting the first game she entered the starting lineup permanently in the fifth game of the season, remaining there for the balance of the Lions' 23-0-2 campaign...was one of just two freshmen regularly in the starting lineup for the Lions' College Cup team...appeared in all 25 games, starting 22...tallied four goals on 58 shots...netted one goal against James Madison on September 18 which was a game-winner, and two goals in the Lions' 8-0 win versus Iowa on October 9...also scored against West Virginia in the NCAA Tournament on November 13...totaled five points in the Iowa game...had six assists for the season...assists came against UConn on August 28, Illinois on October 7, Iowa on October 9, Minnesota on October 30, Bucknell on November 11 and Texas A&M on November 19 in the NCAA Tournament.

Prep -- A graduate of Northport High School in New York in 2005...varsity soccer player there for four years...she was first-team All-State as a sophomore, junior and senior...Newsday's Player of the Year as a high school junior and senior...was selected for the All-Long Island Team her junior and senior years...Long was an All-County selection all four years at Northport...was the Suffolk County player of the year her junior year and then again as a senior...her high school teams went undefeated during the regular season all four years...her senior year Northport advanced to the Long Island semifinals...was the MVP of the Orange Classic Tournament...she once scored three goals in the last 10 minutes of a game to lead her team to victory.
