Quotes From NCAA Quarterfinal

Nov. 25, 2005

Recap |  Box Score

UNC COACH AND PLAYER QUOTES:

Anson Dorrance: I was so excited about the chances we were creating. I wasn't disappointed with our chances we were creating, and I wasn't disappointed with our energy.

About Mims: I thought she did very well. She didn't give anything away. Our hats off to her. She played a great game for Florida State today.

About Penalty Kicks in Practice: This year we worked more on them than in past years. Since we lost to Virginia in the ACC Finals last year on penalty kicks.

About losing this game: This is an excellent team. We are disappointed. This team plays the game at a very high level and my greatest disappointment is that this team will never be showcased without the platform of the Final Four.

FLORIDA STATE COACH AND PLAYER QUOTES:

Mark Krikorian: We knew coming in that it would be a difficult game and difficult to establish a rhythm. I'm proud of our kids. I thought our effort was outstanding. We're pleased to move on. UNC dominated for most of the game, but our kids hung in there.

About Mims: Ally Mims was outstanding today. She was exceptional. This was her best game, and at the right time of year.

About playing UNC again: Anytime you play UNC you have to be prepared for how athletic and organized they are. We did feel more prepared to play them this time.

About the score: I was shocked that that one goal stood up. I thought we played quite good, especially in the overtime. We got good chances in the overtime to go to penalty kicks.

Player Kelly Rowland: We knew UNC had so many threats, we just had to weather their storm and keep our focus with no letdowns.
