2006: As a junior, started a school-record 67 games at shortstop • Hit .264 for the season (46 for 174) with 10 doubles and two home runs • Finished the season with a team-high 12 stolen bases • Had ten multi-hit games, including a three-hit effort at FIU on Feb. 10 • Drove in three runs in the win over Arkansas on Feb. 12 • Had two doubles in the win over Coastal Carolina on Feb. 17 • Hit her first home run of the season in the win at Boston College on April 9 • Accounted for the only hit and only run of the game with a solo home run in the 1-0 win at Virginia Tech on April 15.

2005: As a sophomore, appeared in a school-record 67 games and started 66, tying a school record • Led the team in batting average, hits, runs, triples, home runs, total bases and sacrifice bunts • Batted .306 with 21 RBI, six home runs and eight doubles • Earned first-team All-ACC honors • Member of the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District III Second Team • Notched a career-high four hits against Lipscomb on April 3 • Belted two home runs in one game against Elon on Feb. 23 • Had six games with three or more hits during the season • Earned the Tom and Linda Hazen Most Valuable Player Award and the Frances Brinkley Most Outstanding Offense Award.

2004: As a freshman, appeared in 62 games and started 57 games at second and in left field• Batted .238 with five doubles and a home run • Her home run came in the second game of a doubleheader at UNC Wilmington on March 2 • Doubled twice in the first game against UNCW and finished the day 4-for-7 with three RBI • Also doubled twice in a 4-2 win over Charleston Southern on March 28 • Named an NFCA Scholar-Athlete • Earned spots on the ACC Academic Honor Roll and the Dean's List (both semesters).

At Lumberton (N.C.) High School: 2003 NCHSAA Female Athlete of the Year • In softball, earned all-state honors as a senior, all-region honors three times and all-conference honors four times • Robeson County Player of the Year as a senior • Holds numerous school records, including career hits, home runs and batting average • Also played basketball and tennis, ran cross country and served as an athletic trainer for the football team • Starting point guard on two state championship teams • Class valedictorian • Voted Best All-Around in the senior class and recipient of the 2003 Pride of Lumberton Award.

Personal: The daughter of Jeanette and Sam Evans Jr. • Born Anna Victoria Evans on Jan. 11, 1986, in Pinehurst, N.C. • Has two younger brothers, twins Matt and Brad (19), who both currently attend Carolina • Both her parents are UNC graduates, as are an aunt and uncle • A great uncle, Edgar Mason, played baseball at UNC in the 1920s and her paternal grandfather, Sam Evans Sr., played baseball at Chowan Junior College.
