Jill Lytle-Wilson is in her third season as an assistant coach for the Tar Heels. In her first year as an assistant, Carolina posted a 32-4 record including the program's first appearance in the regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament. In 2003, she helped lead the Tar Heels to a 20-win season, despite the loss of four starters.

Lytle-Wilson, originally from Richmond, Texas, came to the Tar Heels after spending the 2001 season as a graduate assistant at the University of Tennessee-Martin. There, she helped lead the Skyhawks to the regular season Ohio Valley Conference Championship with a 24-7 overall record.

Prior to joining the Skyhawks, she was a student assistant at LSU while completing her bachelor's degree in business administration in the spring of 2001.

Lytle-Wilson was a four-year letterwinner as an outside hitter for LSU from 1997-2000, and a Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll selection for all four years. She served on LSU's Student Athlete Advisory Board each of her four years at the school.
